Given the distinct qualities of the Freestone microclimate, the Clearys already had a location advantage for producing world-class wines. But in order to ensure the quality of their end product, they also knew that they had to start with the finest raw material. Thus, all of the vines in the Bohemian Vineyard use 101-14 rootstock and are equally divided between Dijon 115, 667, and 777 clones. In combination, these selections work beautifully since the first two contribute to the wine's structure while the latter delivers classic Pinot Noir aromatics and flavor characteristics. |
